Recreated Childhood Pictures, Gift Idea

Sorry for the lack of posts! My twin sister was visiting from Atlanta, GA the past few days. My mom, stepdad, aunt and cousin also came to meet her new little man, so we had a full house and I was enjoying every moment I could with my tubby little nephew, Kato! He is just adorable! He is 3 months younger than Everly, and nearly 3 lbs heavier. He is a TANK. I was just loving every second!

Everly Pearl and Kato Kien.

We wanted to give my mom a gift when she came to see us and my sister had the idea to recreate a couple childhood photos and give them to her. My cousin, Danielle, played photographer and we were dying laughing recreating the poses. Here are some of the outtakes:

Taking a test shot. DeAnna trying to master that wide smile without looking like a lunatic.

Ever the control freak, I'm trying to arrange the setting to look as close as possible. DeAnna, being weird, per usual.

I'm arranging DeAnna's hands, I'm pretty sure this is when she slapped me and told me to stop.

Me yelling at the photographer for taking WAY too many pictures. I think Danielle was having a little too much fun with my paparazzi style DSLR.

DeAnna is laughing at me yelling at Danielle.

Finally, we got the photos that were as close to the originals as we could get.

Here are the end results:

If there's one thing I can say about our childhood, it's that we were SO HAPPY. My mom did everything she could to make sure we were happy, stress free and loved. My dad was constantly travelling internationally, so she had to raise us alone for half the year, and she did such a good job. Now with 3 children of my own, I can only begin to understand her sacrifice and love for us, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Here is the gift:

She adored it, she even got a little weepy. Go us... It was SUPER fun. I highly suggest doing this for your parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles/etc! As a parent, I know I would just love it if the kids did this for me one day.

Next up, I'm working on a giveaway and my top 10 Oatmeal Recipes, stay tuned!
