Easy and Yummy Oatmeal Recipes + Giveaway!

 

 

I thought I would host a giveaway to kick off the all-new direction with this blog as I have enlisted the help of my twin sister to co-author this blog from now on (read more about that HERE) and share my FAVORITE oatmeal recipes. I eat oatmeal every. single. day. I used to skip breakfast and got into a lot of bad eating (or lack there of) habits... And with going to the gym in the morning, I was usually getting dizzy 30 minutes into my workout. I knew I had to make time for breakfast and with breastfeeding I have to make sure I'm eating enough throughout the day to maintain my supply. Oatmeal solved all those problems. What I love most about oatmeal is that it takes 2 minutes to prep, keeps me full for hours, and I can change it up with different mix-ins every day. I used to warm water with my tea kettle on the stove, but it was too time consuming. So I got a microwave fresh seal soup/oatmeal bowl by Coastline Imports - Gracie China (which has a steam lid) and I abosolutely love it. It cooks the oats so evenly and they taste like the Old Fashioned rolled oats you'd expect, but they are instant oats. Score! (And how cute is that hand painted print? Love!) I highly recommend checking them out! Here are my top 6 oatmeal recipes, (sorry the pictures aren't great, they were mostly taken with my phone while holding a wiggly baby before I had my coffee, bad combo!) with calorie counts!

Almond Joy Oatmeal:

1/2 C. Quick Oats (150 cal)

3/4 C. Water

1 Tbsp. Ground Flax (40 cal)

1/2 Scoop Chocolate Whey Protein Powder (75 cal)

(Microwave above ingredients for 90 Seconds)

Top with:

2 Tbsp. Unsweetened Almond Milk (10 cal)

1 Tbsp. Unsweetened Coconut (30 Cal)

TOTAL CALORIES: 305 Calories

 

 

 

 

Apple Pie 'n Oats:



1 Red Apple, Sliced/Chopped (80 Cal)

1/2 C. Quick Oats (150 Cal)

3/4 C. Water

1 Tbsp. Ground Flax (40 Cal)

1/8 tsp. Apple Pie Spice

(Layer above ingredients as listed, microwave 90 seconds)

Top with:

1 Tbsp. Unsweetened Almond Milk and cinnamon (10 Cal)

TOTAL CALORIES: 280 Calories

 

Strawberry Coconut Oatmeal:

1/2 C. Quick Oats (150 cal)

3/4 C. Water

1 Tbsp. Ground Flax (40 cal)

(Microwave above ingredients for 90 Seconds)

Top with:

1 Cup Fresh Strawberries (52 Calories)

2 Tbsp. Dried Coconut (60 Calories)

2 Tbsp Almond Milk (10 Calories)

TOTAL CALORIES: 312 Calories

Peanut Butter Chocolate Oats:

 

 

1/2 C. Quick Oats (150 cal)

3/4 C. Water

1 Tbsp. Ground Flax (40 cal)

1/2 Scoop Chocolate Whey Protein Powder (75 cal)

(Microwave above ingredients for 90 Seconds)

Then add:

1 Tbsp.Calorie Free Peanut Butter Spread (or your favorite natural PB, be mindful of Calories!)

2 Tbsp. Unsweetened Almond Milk (10 Cal)

TOTAL CALORIES: 275 Calories

PiƱa Colada Oatmeal:

1/2 C. Quick Oats (150 cal)

3/4 C. Water

1 Tbsp. Ground Flax (40 cal)

(Microwave above ingredients for 90 Seconds)

Then add:

1 single snack cup of pineapple chunks (80 Cal)

1 Tbsp. Dried Coconut (30 Cal)

2 Tbsp. Almond Milk (10 cal)

TOTAL CALORIES: 310 Calories

Chocolate Banana Oatmeal:

1/2 C. Quick Oats (150 cal)

3/4 C. Water

1 Tbsp. Ground Flax (40 cal)

Half Scoop Chocolate Whey Protein (75 cal)

(Microwave above ingredients for 90 Seconds)

2 Tbsp. Unsweetened Almond Milk (10 Cal)

Top with full bananas slices (80 Cal)

TOTAL CALORIES: 355 Calories
